I have played games like this before.

First try I got it down to 34 left.

I took it from 168 to 96 in the 2nd game in one clear! I cleared 72 red ones at once after setting the whole thing up.

I got a 38% accuracy rate on my first (and only) try. The ships are put in random spots, that is a good thing, but they should also be orientated vertically (instead of a straight line, but a column) and make it where some ships are horizontally placed and some vertically placed to make them a bit harder to find.

If you would have played it more than once, you would have seen that they are placed Vertically and Horizontally. It's just sometimes they all happen to be on way or the other. I can't help that, only the computer can.

Make a version that doesn't have the tiles disappearing until you click a "CLEAR" button.

Several versions in one flash would be a good idea, two being this one and the one I mentioned above.
