Good game

Strategy is questionable, I find that a full frontal assault works in every scenario. Mainly it's the application of spells and units that makes up strategy. Not that I really mind, though :D

Also, the "4Musketeer" medal does not work. I tried the game with both a pop-up and in-window, and it won't work at all. All 9 of the other medals work, thankfully.

Finally, the answer to the medal problems!

Finally, I just figured out why those 2 medals didn't work!

Those medals actually DO work, but ONLY if you play the game as a popup by clicking the "Use Popup" button between the game window and the banner ads.

This is the only game I've come across that has this issue.

The "Killing Spree" and "My First Day" medal do work just like every other Newgrounds medal, by just viewing the game in a single window. It's just the "Boss Run" and "Mission Accomplished" medals that *only* work when you play the game in a separate window.

And for the game itself.....very, very good. The array of weapons, enemies, and environments was perfect, and kept me playing for hours.
And of course, got to love the array of achivements...from simply killing one enemy, to clearing levels without being hit even once (especially the last one!)

A Perfectionist is me

Really good small game. Found no bugs, but of course there are going to be simple nuisances, like not being lined up properly when copying.

I played a perfect game

I just cleared a perfect game. Taking no hits, and without dying even once.

:)

The game was not difficult to play or win, but it was fun from start to finish. Adding the "quality" feature ensured that lag wouldn't spoil a game.
The combination of WASD keys for movement and mouse to fire worked well for this game.

Better yet, your progress is saved and you can start on individual zones, should the need (or want) arise.

The mine cart levels are generally where the real difficulty lies. (and remind me of the similar levels in the first 2 Donkey Kong Country games)

A little more interactivity would have been great though. Being able to enter the bathrooms would have been really amusing, as well as being able to damage/destroy various objects in the game.

Numerous small issues, but still a great port

This is, I'm guessing, an exact carbon copy of the original PC demos of these games? I can't verify that, as I've not played the demos of any of these games....until now!

But, a LOT can be said about the controls. There was nothing in the controls list in-game that said how to use inventory items for Hexen and Heretic, like Quartz Potions and Flechettes.
I eventually realized that they were in the authors comments >_< (use bracket keys to open list, select items.)
And some controls listed in-game weren't listed in the comments, some in the comments not listed in-game, and some in-game controls weren't even listed correctly.

Assigning the TAB key to view the map was a BAD choice. I could turn the map ON, but I could *not* turn it OFF. Using the Tab key subsequenty did what the Tab key usually does, selects links individually outside-game, and no amount of clicking the active window rectified this, so I couldn't use TAB again to toggle the map OFF. The only way to turn off the map was to Quit, then restart the game. Why couldn't the "M" key have been used?!

Your list controls were incorrect in Heretic for the use of the Wings of Wrath. You listed them as PgUp and PgDn in-game, but it was actually the "U" and "J" keys that controlled the "fly up" and "fly down" part of the wings.

There were glitches, too. In Hexen, for some reason, I was able to enter the portal that led to a room with lava, a shield, and other things. Every other time I entered that portal, I was greeted with an instant death like I was instantly crushed. I thought the game was then unplayable, until I found that the demo exit portal was 2 doors right! Never again was I able to enter that lava area.
We were never supposed to enter there, right? And if not, why didn't you tell us?

Heretic's inventory is strange. No matter how many of an item you had when you left a level, you entered the next level with exactly one of whatever you had. For example, if you had 10 quartz flasks when leaving Level X, you would enter level Y with only one. Same with all other items.

Also sometimes the Tome of Power quantity is listed as 9, even when that is entirely false. It didn't affect gameplay, since the game remembers the exact amount in holding.

Despite what it said in the authors comments, you cannot actually jump in the Heretic demo. At least not with the "Q" key. You could only jump in Hexen.

Despite a long list of minor issues, this turned out very well. It would be great to see ports of the Marathon Trilogy, as well as a demo port of Quake to Flash, just like you did with Doom, Heretic, and Hexen.

I got Survivalist!

Quite a unique retake of Super Mario Brothers.
No timer, numerous clones, done in a fixed single-screen platformer.

Same concept, but entirely different method of play.

The retake on the Bowser battle was rather unique. He shoots balls of ICE and mixes the Bowser battles of 2 different Mario games.
The original SMB (lava bridge) and SMB3 (jump attack, bowsers weight, plus no axe) and SM64 counts if you include the balls of ice he snorts during the final battle.

The method of defeating the final boss is a bit different, but does directly take both the SMB approach of a bridge over fire and the SMB3 approach of using his own strength against him.

All-in-all, it is a well remade, remixed take on an old classic.

Dungeon Large Casual FTW

An awesome array of guns, just the right amount of increasing difficulty, and semi-customizable arenas, both the arena itself and the size of it.

And it's even better with Madness-style combat, lots of in-game achievements and 26 medals!

The only.....only flaw is that it lags a lot :(
Otherwise, very very well done!

Pretty good

Nice choice of music tracks and array of achievements.

One thing that may be overlooked is, to get a "Perfect" you not only have to hit everything, but be 100% on the holds too. You won't get perfect if you hold a hold too long, or let off too early. If there is a margin of error, it's not much.

More interactive than #1

This game, the sequel to "A Small Favor" is longer, and provides even more interactivity. Though I preferred the atmosphere of #1 better in this particular story.

Entertaining

It's short, but point-and-click adventures are fun. There was also a little outside-the-box thinking required as well, primarily in finding the middle locker code. The ranking system defined this game.
